CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children's Pastors: Pastor Jeff & Lori Harmon, Julie Palley

Vision

Our vision is to bring children into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to provide a ministry where children are encouraged to follow Christ through the teaching of Biblical truths.

Values

  • Bethesda Children's Ministries, in order to accomplish our mission, must be child-targeted in our approach.
  • At Bethesda Children's Ministries we want to continually innovate, ensuring a relevant and creative approach to our programs.
  • We want to build a dynamic program where children can have a fun experience.
  • We value both excellence and safety and strive to provide these throughout the provision of ministry to children.

Special Events

To see what events are upcoming, check out the Kidz Connection events page.

Sundays are a time for the whole family to gather for worship. Each Sunday everyone meets in the sanctuary for corporate worship that reaches out to all ages. Children then are dismissed to go to the following programs:

Mornings:

  • Children's Church (2-3 years)
  • Children's Church (4-6 years)
  • Blast (7 years - Grade 6)

Evenings:

  • Noah's Ark (3-6 years)

Other Ministries/Events

Children's Ministries

Bethesda offers children two opportunities to be involved in ministry:

  • Children's Choir is offered to children who are in Grades 3 through 6. During Sunday evenings, October through May, boys and girls are trained to worship and sing as a choir, performing in front of the congregation and at special events.
  • Power Players is an exciting black light puppet and dance ministry available to ten boys and girls who practice every Sunday evening during the service and perform in the church, at schools, and at other venues.

Special Events

Throughout the year, exciting events are planned for the children. Please see our Church calendar to see many of these events, including:

  • Grade 3-6 Camp - In June, from Friday to Sunday, children enjoy a great camp experience at Camp Nakamun (1.5 hours northwest) with Zipline, Wall Climb, Burma Bridge and many other exciting activities.
  • Spiritual Challenge Day - Grade 6 students gather in June at Birch Bay for a day of team-building and spiritual emphasis prior to entering into the Youth.
  • Grade 5 & 6 Parties - throughout the year, Friday nights are set aside for fun and loud activities associated with some weird theme. A great evening to build friendships and to include many non-church friends.
  • VBS: Vacation Bible School - every August over two hundred children gather for a full week of thrills, chills, spills, and Bible time. From pre-school to Grade 6, boys and girls attend a dynamic and fun-filled five days ending with a Family Carnival on Friday evening.
  • Wacky Wednesday - summer community program with fun activities, messy games and more!
  • Quest - Church life seminar for kids. Children learn about growing in the church, their gifting and going (sharing Jesus) with the world.
